some boards are very picky about ram. Have you checked what the recommended ram is for this board?

It uses single and double density DIMMs but I'm not sure what that means. I have modules by Crucial numbered CT32M72S4R7E.18T that don't work. My module number CT16M72S4R7E.9T does work. They all work on my old board although it has size limits that made half of the two identical ones unusable.

here is the crucial ram for that board
The other ram you have is ECC but differing module sizes.

That information isn't very accurate. All my modules are ECC registered.

I don't think you meant what you wrote... the information is not complete, but what there is, is accurate!!
By the way, double density and single density is about how much ram is packed on a card. For instance single density 128mb will most likely be double sided - a total of 16 chips making up 128mb. Double density is twice that and often the ram chips are only on one side of the card. This is a simplistic answer to illustrate the difference, the only way to tell is by checking the specification. I did look up the numbers you give, but crucial does not appear to keep specs for older ram.

I've had a new ECC module from HP that works.
I was wondering what the fastest processor I can use is? The board has a 400MHz FSB. It is probably a 2.8MHz P4 with a 512K cache. I'm not counting any adapter upgrades.

Many processors came out after the motherboard.

yes, but it tells you exactly what processors it will support.
