    Blank error message

Lately, my laptop keeps popping up an error message with no text about once a day, as shown in the attached image. It doesn't occur when running any particular application and shows under Applications in Task Manager, called "Error". The time it shows up doesn't seem to be regular.
Pressing OK or the close button makes it go away.
The computer shows no other apparent symptoms.
Any ideas what might cause this?

    Hi rainbow,

    Welcome to WinDrivers!

First off, we might need some more info...such as make & model of your laptop, which version of Windows are you running, what type of antivirus are you running if any?

I have a Panasonic CF-27, running Windows 2000. I have AVG free edition, and a full hard disk scan doesn't show anything. Does that help?

What anti spyware are you running?

Which service pack for 2000 do you have installed?

SP4 and Ad-Aware, which also shows nothing.

Well, something is doing it... the fact it's blank is going to make it hard to track down.

Can you paste the the log from hijackthis please?

The other thing to do is make a note of the processes running in task manager and when you close the error box, note if any processes also close.

Task manager shows no processes ending when closing the error box.

Are you still using npchime? If not you should uninstall it. This is to allow old netscape plugins to run in newer versions of netscape.
