CD/DVD drive not responding

When I try to copy a CD (music) I receive a message stating to insert a cd even though a new one is in the bay. I have tried cleaning cd drives with no luck. The same cd copied great on another computer so it isnt the disc.
My device is a Sony CD-RW CRX 215E5.
I have Windows XP and IE6.0

Thanks. Tried both but neither could solve the problem. Said there was a problem but couldnt tell what.
