Dvd - Dvd+
Is there any difference in performance between DVD-R and DVD+R? I have used both and so far have not found any difference but before I buy a spindle of 50 I would like to know which is best to buy. They will be used mostly for data backup and photo storage. I use Roxio to burn.

Then it really doesn't matter! I can't even see a significant price difference... If you were wanting to make DVDs to go into a standard dvd player, then you would need to test to see which type it liked. Photo dvds look so much better on a big TV!

I have a Emerson player that hooks to tv for VHS and DVD. It will not play
with -DVD only +DVD. Also have a portable DVD player Memorex MVDP1075
that also is picky only + DVD. does not recognize -DVD.

Thanks for the replies. I will not be burning any DVDs for use in my players as I do not have a camcorder although I might seam up the very few one minute AVIs I have of my late husband from my old camera and the longer ones of my cat from my new Fuji S9600 and play them on the TV but that is for later as I have not learned how to seam up AVIs yet.
I will buy + DVDs.
