Video Editing Software for Sony HDR-SR1
I want this camera badly, but I refuse to buy a camera whose video cannot be edited, so I have been leary and patient waiting for software to come out that can edit ANVCD format video properly without compression that renders recording in HD futile. I have heard some word of Vegas and Ureal having VERY recently adapted to these features in their most recently released versions. I have an older version of Vegas Movie Studio that was rather expensive and I have grown quite accustomed to. I bought it about a year-and-a-half ago, and it was the most advanced, up-to-date version of Vegas at the time. Is there any way I can simply dl some sort of software update/codec or something to get Vegas Movie Studio (Pro version 5.0?) to properly edit in ANVCD format without compression? Oh, and Inspiron 600M, 3 years old, WinXP Home SP2.

I believe "new and improved" will cost you. Here is a link to Sony's upgrade pricing page
