Not Enough Server Storage To Process Command

I have a Western Digital My Book Pro Edition 2 installed on a client's office network. He has a desktop and 2 laptops, all runing XP Home. The My Book 1000GB external drive is connected to the desktop and its contents are easily accessible through the desktop. But, if I try to access the share wirelessly via either laptop, I get the message:

\\Desktop\My Book (G) is not accessible. You may not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Not enough server storage is available to process this command.

This has worked fine up until a few days ago. I can browse to the desktop computer via my laptop and view other shares, just not the My Book drive share.

I have tried editing the registry to add the IRPStackSize value as well as ensuring the Paged Pool size is set to -0-. I have lowered the firewall on all units but still have no access. I have searched the Western Digital KB as well as the Microsoft KB with no luck.

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jeff Farrar

How high did you boost the IRPStackSize? It may take a larger setting to get the drive working.

I changed it to 15 but its always back on hex rather than decimal when I return to check it.

The drive shows up as a RAID 0 configuration. Since my crash some weeks ago, I never reinstalled the RAID drivers from DEll as I broke the mirror so as to have (2) 250 GB drives rather than 1 250 GB in RAID 1.

Maybe reinstalling the Dell Raid Array Drivers will work?

    Thanks,

No...reinstalling RAID Array drivers did not solve the problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

Keep boosting the IRPStackSize - it may need to be significantly bigger than 15 if your antivirus screwed it up.

I uninstalled McAfee and solvedthe problem. I am running the free, AVG virus protection program now.

    Bye-Bye mcAfee.

That's another way to solve the problem.
