Chuffed - on course again
Those of you who know me will recall that I was unable to benefit fully from my MCP courses due to being carer to my husband, who has since died, and failing two MCP exams because I could not find enough quiet time to do my test preps. I had thought that was it and I could not try again because the College was not funding the courses for concessions.
I am really chuffed because I have been accepted on the one course running at our local College which is 70-271/272 MCDST and the chap in IT, think he is the head of IT or near the top anyway and has known me for years, has put me on the class register and is holding a place for me whilst I apply for funding.
New trainer and rookie too as the old one has left.
I mean to pass my exam this time and after that is the Vista course and I know getting funding for that will depend on my results on the XP course.
I walked out of the College feeling ten years younger

Congratulations! I know you've been through a tough time and you should be proud that you're going forward with your life. That's exactly what your husband would want for you.

That chap in IT, is that the good looking one you told us about before?
I am very pleased for you Angie. If you need help with a concept, please do post and remember, this is supposed to be FUN. Don't get cross with yourself if you feel you are not making progress. Just go out in the garden and do something mindless for a while instead. I find that helps enormously especially when trying to get my head round something.
Let us know how it goes.

Thank you slgrieb and Noo Noo.
Yes my husband would be very pleased I am trying to get my life back together, I know he would hate me to get bogged down by grief.
No, Noo, the MCT who has left and only recently for a better job is the very good looking one who if I were younger I would fancy like mad if he were not already married that is. I am a little put out by the fact he won't be teaching us but again he is a very hard taskmaster who boasted that he passed all his exams first time with ease and thought we should too. The chap in IT I referred to is older but very nice, quite fancy him too
We have 11 four hour sessions minus breaks to prepare for MCDST 271 and 272. If I pass will I be able to get on the access to MCP only website or do you have to get an actual MCP? The next course is the Vista MCP course starting in January and I am up for that if I pass this one. Does MCDST count towards MCSA?
Yes it is meant to be fun and my non IT Pro/Student friends think I am mad

No idea about what does what, I just fix stuff
Ask those non -IT friends of yours what's so attractive about something they do that you have absolutely no interest in..

That is good news. And I agree with Noo, I hope you can really enjoy the course, and achieve without stress.
