    Trial versions with courses

Do you still get a trial version of the appropriate OS if you are doing a Microsoft Academy MCP/MCSA course? I am particularly thinking of Vista as I hope to do this next term but do not run Vista at present.

If the Licence covers every course the Academy is running over the academic year then I don't think 100 is going to cover everyone. If the Licence is per OS it might. I believe there are 40 in the evening MCDST class for a start and there is a one day a week class too and ditto Vista MCP next term and Windows Server 2003 MCP the term after and other courses for the rest of the year. Having said that the MCDST course is based on XP and I think most of us already use it and I have Pro and Home but I wonder how many like myself will need to buy Vista for next term if there are not enough to go round if indeed the College bother to purchase a Licence.

If it were our old trainer I know what he would do but we have a new trainer and this will be her first time so she may not be "clued up"

I think you need to talk the tutor leading the academy... They will know what they are offering in the way of trialware or student versions. They may have msdnAA which allows them to give out all kinds of software to computing students. Go talk to them first!

If the new one doesn't know, explain that student versions are often given with the course, and ask her to check what the college policy is.

I will do that. I am assuming that the trainer for Vista next term is going to be the same one we are having this term for MCDST and she might be aware by then anyway.

I think I have all the info I need on this now Noo Noo and thanks again.
