    Monitoring System for Client Home

I need a solution for monitoring the interior of a client’s house. They have two children, ages 17 and 20, who are left alone for 1-3 days at a time. They say that each time they return home, items are missing, broken, or out of place. They have a secure office with a Dell Desktop running Windows XP with a 3.2 Gig processor and 4 gigs of RAM. They have suggested installing web cams in hard to spot locations to capture video and audio whilst they travel.

What solutions could I use to satisfy their needs with a minimal; amount of wiring? They will want to be able to use their laptop{s} and view the interior while traveling.

    Thanks,

    Jeff Farrar

There are a bunch of wireless cameras available that come with appropriate software, although they would need a fairly large partition or external drive to hold all the images..I know the X-10 system works, but I find their website extremely annoying.

They come with the monitoring software and you can put up to 16 cameras in one screen to view and ya can view it from over the internet

I'd probably say x-10 as well.. when they first started they were retarded and their software was mediocre at best, but from of the new setups I've seen and worked with it's pretty good now.

I will point out, be very careful doing this. At one job I had we did same thing and the kid was over 18 and tooks his parents to court for violation of privacy and won. Check your local privacy laws and make sure they don't have laws protecting against that sort of thing. Find out the legal implications before doing the job.
