Windows 2000 Server tmp under system32

    Hi All,
I have noticed bizzare behaviour on one of my server (Windows 2000 SP4 with Exchange 2003). Thing is the computer creates a tmpXXXXXXX (XXXX stands for Hex number) folder every few minutes under Winnt\system32. sometimes the folder is empty - sometime it is with a null sized file (tmp file). the beaviour started 9Aug - any ideas.
P.s. I already rulled out spy /virii issues.

    Cheers,
    Gabriel

    Sorry for bumping...
But I am breaking my head over this
Is there a possibility to find out what Process creates those file (monitor or log folder activity)

    Cheers,
    Gabriel

    Have any software by mapinfo?

Even if you don't, you could follow the advice and see if the tmp file location changes.

Though it was a good advice - the situation is still the same
The TEMP/TMP variable has no effect on the TMP filders created

But still - assistance is always appriciated,
    Gabriel

OK, have you looked at the temp file properties to see who or what created it and when?
