Talking Here is a good one to figure out

Ok, before I list the programs involved with this issue, let me state that my company is behind in the times when it comes to software. They are a bit slow when it comes to upgrading. With that said, here we go. The components involved; NT Workstation 4.0 SP4, Lotus CC:Mail 8.2-8.4-8.41, Office 95, Office 97, Inoculan, Lotus Organizer. This is our standard image that we use, and then build the pc off of this. What happens is from time to time, when a user tries to either respond to an email, or create a new email, CC:Mail hangs, and Task Manager says that it is Not Responding. When this happens, something else occurs. Within Word 95, and or Word 97 a document is created that has bullets, and is printed, the bullets come out as squares. Print preview shows the squares as well, but on the screen in Word it appears to be bullets. We have the correct printers drivers loaded, and are the most current. Uninstalling and reinstalling of the programs do not fix the issue. Reinstalling SP4 does nothing either. What was found to fix these problems, is go into the Fonts icon from Control Panel. The Arial font will be missing for a few seconds. Then POP! it shows up. This is what I call the Arial Font Refresh Trick. After this, CC:Mail works again, and the bullets print out as bullets. My question to all of you is, what the heck causes this? What makes the Arial font go bye bye in the first place? I have been on Inoculan's, Microsoft's, and Lotus's web sites looking for any possible answers, and nothing was ever found. It is a quick and easy fix, but it is one of those things that could be prevented if only it was known how it is caused. Any info would be helpful. Thanks for all of your time!

What it sounds like to me is maybe you have a bad stick of ram or maybe cpu... try switching the ram out and see what happens.

Also how many fonts are installed?? I have seen weird thing happen when you have too many fonts installed.
