When you say the printer does not print
Explain exactly the steps you take to get it to print and what happens (or doesn't happen).
Can you print a test page? Start, printers and faxes, right click on the 1060p and select properties, should be a print test page button on the lower right. When it asks if it printed ok, click no if it didn't... follow the instructions in the wizard to check you have it correctly set up.

the steps i took to setup printer...
1. i connected it to my comp...did PNP set up through WIN XP.
2. no Plug n Play item found
3. connected printer/fax/scanner/copier manualy
4. followed the steps that the wizard asked.... It asked if I had disk
5. NO I set the .inf files up in the MY DOWNLOAD file in my document files.
6. I set up the printer on a USB local port and set the printer to print directly to the printer.
7. I am able to print single page items in notpad, but not in mocrosoft office 2003 or any other files.

When you attempt to print from Word 2003, do you get an error message?
Uninstall the printer and disconnect the printer. Restart the computer
Double click the installation file you downloaded and follow the instructions to install it. Then connect the printer either if the software setup requests it, or after the software has been installed and you have restarted the machine and it has completed loaded the desktop (no eggtimers).

NO, no error message.
1. Uninstall the printer.
2. Disconnect the printer.
3. Restart the computer.
4. Double click the installation file you downloaded.
5. And follow the instructions to install it.
6. Then connect the printer either if the software setup requests it, or after the software has been installed.
7. And you have restarted the machine.
8. And it has completle loaded the desktop (no eggtimers).
Yes, to the exact set of directions that you have layed out here.
But, I did get it to print in Windows, only if I pressed CLT+P every time. That was when i reloaded the NT driver on one printer set-up, Windows 2000 on another set-up and set up a viritual usb port along with a USB001 port for each printer icon I set up. The problem is that to combine the drivers in a build program, i.e., (dos, N.T., win 95, win 98, win ME, win 2000, TO WIN XP) the default printer setup will only print one page, and not more than one full page at a time. The default printer connection says that I have conflicting printer settings. I am clueless.
