File Sharing and permissions
Talk about dancing about architecture!
I got a colleague who wants to know how to correctly allocate shares/permissions on an NT server (4.0, sp6a, and in talking to her I find I know how to do it (not saying my way is correct or only way) but I find it really difficult to explain to her.
Anyone know a good site for a beginner to get the hang of NTFS shares/permissions, on a network? I ain't got the time to research, although I know tech-net has some pages, but they mainly assume knowledge already there. She is doing this as self-development, not an Nt (or other) techie, so I can't fit into an in-house programme
Thanks all.

Try cramsession.com they have study guides for nt4 that go over the ntfs/share permission combinations.

Thanks UsePost, I have passed this site on to my colleague, and she says thanks too. I didn't know this site, so when I have time I'll go take a peek, sounds interesting.
If anyone else has any ideas - much appreciated

Not trying to be insulting, but if it doesn't have to be a site, what about 'NT for dummies' I recommend these books to new users because it explains in easy to understand terms.

You're not being insulting at all!
Some days you get these requests, and in an effort to look as "all-knowing" as possible you forget the shortest route is sometimes the best.
My colleague is interested in web-based research, so I didn't think of the writtem word, and I agree, the "for dummies" series is a great start.
Next time on Mastermind quiz, my specialist subject will be the "bleedin' obvious!"
Still, any further URL's would be appreciated
