'Lock Down' a PC
so I've been looking for a way to really 'lock down' a laptop image. I have 2 laptops that I really need to remove the Run command, remove the ability to use the command prompt or use the Windows +R command. Does anyone know any software where I can do this.

If you are running Windows XP Professional, or even Windows 2000, you can hit Start, Run, and type GPEDIT.MSC in the box and edit the group policy there.

Microsoft has a program called Steadystate that will allow you to restrict programs and features, you can get it here http://www.microsoft.com/protect/pro...ystate.mspxere
Gpedit.msc will work, but it restricts everyone who uses the computer, with steady state you can lock down specific accounts.
