    Angry Error 0xc0000142

    Client is getting error after he comes back and his screen is locked and says 0xc0000142 A application has failed to initialize properly.click ok and it terminate the application it takes me to a screen that useually up when the computer is locked. What application is failing.

    I have the same thing going on. The error that you click okay to says it is ssmarque.scr that is causing mine. My user is using the marque screen saver that comes on Win2K. I haven't found anything on MS site so was was just looking around elsewhere. If I find anything I'll pass it on.

    Hi, I m too facing the same error. i.e; Say, 5 minutes after computer is locked, a display message appears saying that Application error(.scr) has occured and Click "OK" to terminate the application. Once "OK" is clicked, and Computer is unlocked , things come back to Normal. Can anyone help me with this??

    Welcome to Windrivers ssssdddd

    The application is a screensaver (.scr) You need to turn off the screensaver that's running. It could indicate you have a load of spyware as well.

    I agree with Noo. If possible back up data and do a clean install.
