Looking for some ideas for a motherboard...
Hi all,
I want to build a computer for a cousin in Mexico and I'm looking for a good speedy motherboard with onboard video and sound that uses DDR. AMD or Intel.
I've just begun to look, he's willing to spend about 600/700 dollars for everything except the monitor.
Any ideas???

do you really need to onboard video? that will really limit your choices. if you need the onboard video, maybe on of the NForce based boards. they have onboard geforce 2 video, but i have no idea what type of performance they offer. anyone else used any of the NForce boards?

i have used the socket A Shuttle AK31A with the Apollo KT266A chipset. you can pick one up at Newegg for $72 plus shipping. super fast, stable board with built on sound. for the price, i would say this would give you alot of bang for your buck.
