No power

A power supply went out on my computer, I put another power supply in and now it will not do anything. The light on my board is on but nothing happens when I press the power button on the computer. When I plug the power supply into the board and nothing else, the power supply, cpu fan and the sounds associated with booting up respond when I press the power button. but when I connect the power connectors to the drives I get nothing. I put a powersupply that I had used the night before, and now it is doing the same.

1.10 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP - processor
ASUSTeK A7V8X - motherboard
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 - Display adapter
1 GB memory
antec 350W - power supply

Well forwindri, it looks like the psu took out some components with it.

You say you get booting up sounds - if you power up with just 1 stick of ram, and the video card plugged in, do you get any video?
Have you tried swapping the video card? Checking the monitor and cables?

You need to isolate one item at a time.

I left something out in my original post. When my power supply went out, I replaced it with another power supply and it was working after being on for a llong time it would reboot. This power supply was PowMax 300W. Other wise it was working. I then took it out and put an Antec 350W in. When I first pluged the 20-pin main power connector to the motherboard, then I turn the hard switch onthe power supply on and pressed the soft switch on the computer and it started to boot up and I turned it off. I then connected the power connectors to my drives, applied power and got nothing, no fans turning no sound just dead silence. I put the PowMax back in and now it's doing the same thing.

ok, but you still have to strip the machine down as far as you can, and then add one component at a time.

Thanks NooNoo for your suggestions, I replaced the processor and the computer booted up. It ran for about 30 minutes and the monitor shut down. I then replaced the video card and so far it has run about 10 hours.
