Clearing IE temp files
Just wondering if there is a tool that will allow one user to delete the temporary Internet files of other users. In all the common methods that I know of, only the current user has his or her temp files deleted. I know I can browse to other users and delete their files manually, but surely there is a program that can do this.
Anyone?

I don't know of a reliable program, but this is what I do....
I move the temporary internet files to a folder that is easy to get at and has subfolders in the user's name. EG d:\temp\fred\temporary internet files
Why do you want to clear other users temp inet files?

The situation has come up before, most recently this week. A co worker wants me to 'clean up" their home computer that is acting badly. Real vague diagnosis. They drop off the computer and I take it home, I see it has five user accounts. Turns out the computer has a virus infection. I run the specific tool to clean up the identified virus (Smitfraud). Then I like to clear all possible temp files before I do a scan of the entire drive just to speed things up. Turns out I was logged in as user1 and there were additional bad files in user3's Temp IE files.

Always always always login in safe mode as Administrator and then nuke the user temp inet files first. Then run your tools.

Thank you for your advice. I will do so from now on. It looks like there are a couple of tools that will allow the deletion of multiple user temp files. I haven't had the chance to try them yet:
ICSweep at http://www.ctrl-alt-del.com.au/CAD_TSUtils.htm
and
CleanUp! at http://www.stevengould.org/index.php...d=15&Itemid=69

Cleanup is an awesome little program small footprint fast and works like a dream. I also use A1Click Ultra PC Cleaner at home and you can add your own custom folders to delete.
