    Tribute to Western Movie Actors

I used the term 'actors' rather than 'Stars' because some of my favoutites never got the acclaim I feel was deserved - anyway, here's a short list I applaud, BUT NOT in every film they made:

    Glenn Ford
    John Wayne
    John Payne
    Joel McRae
    Gary Cooper
    Clint Eastwood
    Randolph Scott
    Henry Fonda
    Ben Johnson
    Dan Duryea

Many of the 'popular' actors (male) are listed here:

    Multi list here:

Glenn Ford was my fave cowboy, he had a thousand yard stare that conveyed volumes of emotions to the moviegoer.

Robert Duval's preformance in Lonsome Dove is likely my all time favorite
As well as his Open Range preformance
Sam Elliot for his Louis Lamour films

How about Tom Selleck and Alan Rickman (one of my absolute favorite heavies) in Quigley Down Under?

Or, Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Kevin Costner, Danny Glover and John Cleese in Silverado?

Anthing with Lee Van Cleef, or the Terence Hill/Bud Spencer duo? The Magnificent Seven anyone? The Unforgiven! (I'm not like that anymore.)

Iron Eyes Cody, Jay Silverheel, Chief Dan George, Will Sampson and all the rest of the Native American actors. As opposed to Will Shatner in White Comanche.

On and on, the list of Western movie greats just keeps getting longer. I think it is the genre itself which leads actors to stellar performances.
I didn't surrender, but they took my horse and made him surrender. They have him pulling a wagon up in Kansas I bet.

Absolutely! I wish he would have ordered a gin in a dirty glass... with a hair in it!
