No video
I have a Tekram P5MA-M motherboard with onboard sound and video. the sound is not not working so I tried to install a sound card in a pci slot. When I do I get no video. I have Trident CyberBlade i7 AGP display adapter and VIA audio.

Did you try disabling sound in the bios first?
Which slot did you put the audio card in?
Did you try a different audio card?

Thanks NooNoo,
I tried another audio card and had no problems. When I didn't get any video I tried a different video with no thought to the audio card.

So the first audio card you tried was a dud and it's now working? If so, don't forget to trash the 1st audio card!
