As you can see I'm new here, so I don't know if this has been asked before.
In selecting an avatar, I am curious as to why there is not an option to use your own picture and/or image?

Hey..... I was told I had to give up my kidney, half my liver, and my left pinky in order to have mine. I WANT MY PINKY BACK! You can keep the other parts. I'm sure they're not important.

It's too bad there is not the option to upload your own avatar/image as most other forums do. I'm not willing to give up a body part for a pic, besides, who really cares how often you change it.

Adams, read the friggerty responses, please! You can upload your choice of avatar subject to management approval. Like every other forum. CCT told you how. Alternatively, send me $500 and I promise to cut through all the red tape. honestly

Adams, seriously, the personal avatar is awarded to members who have usefully posted over a period of time. You can email me or Richard1 with said avatar when you think you have usefully posted over a period of time.

I had no intention of making this a big deal, I was just curious.
I belong to few other forums and did not need "Management Approval" to upload an avatar when I first joined, the option was already there in my profile to do so, but if that's your rules, I will abide and respect them.
BTW, the name is Adamsappleone.

So you understand - this is a kind of 'small' site with LOTS of surfers and only a few actual 'helpers' (Noo Noo being the primary alpha at the moment) and thus there are few authorized 'nasty post/icon eradicators' and this means that things other less restuirctive sites may allow are not allowed.

This is a small price for the generally high degree of advice you will get, not to mention the reliability of that advice.

btw - this doesn't ALWAYS' include me at this point - I still err !
