[RESOLVED] Can't find modem
Can't get NT 4.0 to find the modem I use the install wizard but it says there is no modem present. what do I need to do .

Hey, jacevedo2! I have also experienced the same problem. The first thing to check is your CMOS config. Go to intergrated peripherals section, and disable COM2 or serial port B...same thing. If you have newer ISA modem, the config should be (COM2 - IRQ3 - I/O 2F8-2FF). On the other hand, some newer PCI modems' default to COM3 - IRQ 9 or 11. Within the ports applet in control panel, you can configure whether you want NT to use default settings or your own settings. Half of the times the wizard does not work. If your drivers are NT compatible, try have disk, and install manually. I have another trick up my sleves if this info does not work for you. E-mail me the results or post it.
