here is a direct link to the audio driver at Foxconn

You can get your other drivers for this motherboard from here You need to select the search details which in your case are Motherboards, Socket 754 and 661M03-G-6L (or the 6EL). It will then display a list of all the available drivers for you to download.

    Welcome to Windrivers myrna0425733

What driver do you want? The a440 is a notebook, so what did you mean by monitor... an external one or the screen supplied with it? If you meant the screen supplied with it, what is the problem with it?
What operating system are you using?

upps, my mistake...sorry, forget the monitor.

I'm in need of video card driver for my tiny a440 notebook.

The screen is black, but the loading is ok ... i used a flash light just to check the screen, i see the shadow of the usual 'window XP loading '. I already adjusted the contrast and brightness. But still it didn't work, I consulted my technician and was advised to look for a video or graphic driver ...

I upgrade the system from windows millennium to windows XP. It is actually old stuff ...

I'm new @ this ... I really appreciate the help...

So why did you reply to a thread about soundcards?

Your "technician" was wrong. That is a hardware fault - the backlight or the inverter is faulty. You can prove this by plugging in an external monitor (if the laptop has a vga or s-video or composite video output).

We did tried that...I was just hoping I could find the driver.

With your advise, it clear now.

Thanks, NooNoo. I'll just use an external monitor then.

Promise, next time I'll use the exact forum...

    Thanks.

Well, Myrna, don't get too depressed. Backlight or inverter problems are actually pretty easy fixes. I wouldn't suggest this a "do it yourself" project for most people, but you should be able to find a tech to do it at a reasonable price. There are also companies that will fix your display if you ship the laptop to them.

Just to put all this in perspective, inverters are usually around $40, and backlights are generally about $4. I'd check around locally, and if you can't find help, you should post again and tell us where you are. I can suggest some service companies in the U.S., but I can't really help you elsewhere.

Smile Wow! Didn't expect this much help. Thank you.

    slgrieb,

Ok. I'm just a bit sad but not really that depressed.
I appreciate the effort but I'm from one of the provinces here in the Philippines.
Yes, its possible that I could replace the parts but I'll pass due to location.

    OMGmissinglink,

    Ok. I'll try that.
