[RESOLVED] Outlook 2007 Most Recently Used (MRU) lists
Can anyone point me in the right direction on steps or instructions on how to extract the MRU list off of one computer and move it to another. I have an assistant superintendent that got a new laptop that replaced his desktop and she wants to know what happened to her contacts. After speaking with her I determined she meant the contacts that were cached in the Most Recently Used lists. I searched microsoft and the internet and found lots of information on how to clear the list but none on how to export it. I suspect I could do a profile transfer but that I want to avoid as her profile was kind of corrupt in the first place.

Can you not just export the key? Not tried it myself, but I don't see why that wouldn't work? Thinking about it, you would need to export the new key as well - open both in notepad and then copy and paste the mru's from the old to the new since the identity key will be different.

Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

This fix worked perfectly for me.
I have to say that finding the answer to this issue and implementing it was the quickest and easiest fix for a tech issue I've ever experienced. It was so quick and will save me so much time that I took the time to register for windrivers just to post this comment.

C:\Documents and Settings\{my user name}\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
