high pitched audio
Hi all,
I know I've read this somewhere before, and should have printed the answer. Oh well. Windows 98 PC with KM2M combo board running via ac97. ALL Windows sounds are running about twice the normal playback speed. Chipmunk virus ?Everything else seems OK.

Sorry it took me a while to get back. Installing 5.11 via drivers now. System did work in the past, who knows what the customer has done

resolved !
Found it. Sound effects manager for the ac 97 had a pitch key that was set to +4. rolled back to zero, and all is well. thanks for putitng up with me
