sound max audio driver
i have two hard disks in my computer and it is windows xp home edition. my sound card is in old hard disk but now its not working and showing that no audio device. its is sound max audio driver version 5.1.2600. i don't know how to install it and from where.

yes it installed but not working like when i m playing a song in winamp its says bad audio device or sound is not working. now wat can i do

What is shown in control panel - sound for playback and record devices?

in control panel, under it in sound and audio device properties it shows no audio device

in device manager,under sounds,video and game controller it shows so many things like audio codec, legacy audio drivers, legacy video capture devices, logitech mic, media control devices, soundmax integrated digital audio, unimodem half-duplex audio device, video code

Check the drop down boxes for other options as well as the default one showing.

In device manager under soundmax integrated audio, is there any error or does it say the device is working properly?
Do you use the modem? - disable the unimodem half-duplex audio device and restart the machine. This device has been known to interfere with normal audio in the past.

yes it works thanx a lot noonoo u help me a lot. i spend three weeks on this but u have done in just 15 minutes thanx a lot. one last thing how it doesnt show any volume control in the menu bar.

That's a check box in control panel> sounds on the general tab...
Glad it's fixed. Was it disabling the modem sound that fixed it?

sorry i dont know where to start new thread thats why i m sending thic continuously.Now i m again facing problem with my computer, this time with my dvd drive. i have dvd driver also player but when i entered the dev it says that there is no dvd decoder in your computer.why.
