    Unhappy Windows Vista pc rateing???

I have a friend that is handicapped and on a limited budget and I built him a MSI Mbox K9N6PGM2-V with a AMD Athlon 64X2 5000 PCU and 2 GBCrucial Ballistix DDr2 800 PC6400 memory with a Seagate 7200rpm Barracuda 80 hard drive running Windows Vista Home basic OEM with an Lite On 20x dvd burner and I chose to run the onboard video. The windows install ran very fast and Vista installed every single driver for the board. The windows experience index only gave a 3 rating on this board/memory/hard drive combo. Is that rating right?? I was thinking I should at least got a 5 or 6. Anyone care to comment. Thanks...Don

That actually sounds about right. I'm running a phenom 2.3 ghz with 4 gb paired memory and dual 1 GB video cards and I only got a 4.1 rating

Yes that's correct. You can see what I am running in my signature and I score a 5.9
You biggest loss will be because of the onboard video

The rating is equal to the lowest-rated component, not an average. So, that's why the system only rates a 3 in spite of the fact that several of the individual scores would be much higher. What really skews the video score is that business graphics and Aero performance gets lumped together with gaming performance.

    Show off.
    5.9 here also.

    QuadCore Q6400
    4 gigs of ram
    2x 75 gig raptors(10,000RPM), RAID 0
    Nvidia 8800GTS 320
    64 bit vista ultimate
    Dual Display

3.0 for onboard graphics is actually quite acceptable.

I have installed the video card and the windows experience index did not change! Still 3.0 Is there a way to reset it? Vista found the drivers. I will have the owner check for updated drivers. Would it help or should I install the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer Version 1.1.4 drivers. This Pc is used for surfing the Internet and simple game. Thanks again everyone!!…Don

Yes there is, on the page it shows you can click a link to run it again. It should have picked up the change in hardware and offered you the link
