Thermaltake Golden Orb II
Do any of you guys know if the Goldern Orb II CPU cooller is compatible with AMD's new Phenom II processors?

Yeah but I was told the Phenom II generate much more heat and it may not cool it as well. but the standard AMD one you get with the processor is not as good and that does the job so I don't see why this shouldn't.

It is alot different to the one that were provided before it comes with copper heat pipes too.
I have sent Thermaltake an e-mail see what they say.

This is the reply I got from Thermaltake:
The new Phenom II processor has an AM2 socket.
The Golden Orb II can be compatible with this processor, if you use an AM2 upgrade cooler clip.
Now what does that mean?

That could be right, Phenom II TDP rating is 125W, from the Golden Orb II FAQ:
"Please noted, the CL-P0220 can’t support CPU over 130W and it's better for 90W CPU use."

Hmmmm so what do you think I should do? use the stock cooler or buy something else?

IF it were me, I would build it with the stock cooler and see how it goes. Then decided on something else if I need to.
