Noisey Sound
I have an avermedia card in my computer that takes an audio and video line form my vcr to the card. Then another line plugs into my sound card. When I record from the vcr there is background noise with my sound as it is encoding. I have had this card for some time with no problems, this just started for some reason. What could be the cause? I am running Windows XP.

'Then another line plugs into my sound card.'
If you remove that any improvement?

Could be something as simple as dust in the line in socket... what sort of background noise? Shushing, echoing, crackling?

It sound as if something is rotating, maybe the sounds from my board. I lowered the volume so you don't hear as much in your video, but it is there.

Sounds (pun) like possible feedback through the microphone circuits - you don't have that enabled while recording?

Could the sound be the rotation of the video cassette?
