'I have got the resolution soted and have got the monitor working on DVI'
Does this mean you have Forced the settings somehow? Or what?
If they have a factory preferred setting that they say is max, that is the setting that is MAX!
Quite often, a lower setting is actually easier to 'see'.

Well i got the resolution up from the ati catalyst software and the monitor was not working on DVI so I just unpluged its power and cables and plugged them back in and it worked fine.
I don't know if the ATI software has caused the monitor to do this but the monitor has a max resolution of 1680x1050 so why was it not showing it at first???

IF you had a Nvidia card before sometime and didn't clean out all the drivers that could cause problems.
If you upgraded the Catalysts and didn't get rid of old drivers, maybe the same thing.
Drivers, as you can tell by the name of this site, are FUNNY!
