Is that a bufo toad? We (in south Florida) have been at war with them for an extremely long time and its been a losing battle.

They're tough to kill off and get rid of. Once you get rid of one, three more move in.
...and dry spells do NOT get rid of them. We had no rain from late November to 2 weeks ago and we still had them. No ponds or canals near us either.
