    Reinstalling Windows - again

Something happened when I reinstalled Windows on my PC a few weeks ago - The drive letters got switched so the storage drive is C and the main drive is I.

I didn't think it would cause issues but, I think it is, especially with the installation of CS3 etc..

I guess it's time to reassign and reinstall.

Before you reinstall, make sure you have all storage devices such as camera card readers disconnected. If you don't do this, your hard drive will be reassigned a different drive letter then C. You could also disconnect now and do a repair install and this could put your drive back to C. Good luck.

The only thing connected to the computer now is the 160GB drive - I even took out the 1TB.

Odd, it's acting like I still have the boot sector virus - won't accept Windows install - need to partition and format for Linux then do the Windows install

If Linux had the SW support I'd stick with that but 90% of what I use has no Linux option.

Usually when you come to the partition place you just have to watch and make sure that it assigns the windows OS to the c drive. But you have to pay attention especially if you have memory card readers and externals usb hard drives. If it doesn't, you just redo it and usually when you redo the partition it puts it to C. Cant speak for anyone else but i have had it happen, and once the os is on another drive letter there isnt a way to force it back successfully that I know of.

Ditto on that Feret. I also had this happen a couple of times because I forgot to disconnect the card reader.
