I would back up your files and restore to factory defaults, if this is 8 weeks old and it already has a virus, no telling what else has screwed up.
What virus checker are you using?

Windows Live OneCare after Norton Antivirus 2009 allowed the virus into my PC!

Glad it's fixed. Norton should have got those two viruses. Onecare I believe is being phased out.

Like all of them slows the boot and shutdown time down, but does a good job on my daughter's uni computer.
