What unplug the modem and end my quest for world domination? You must be mad!

When will we be driving in hovercrafts? I remember my dad's old "Popular Science" magazines always promised us that...

Why was this thread slipping into the oblivion that lies off the end of the page?

Why is it that time advances when you don't want it to? If time is relative to the beholder, the beholder should be able to manipulate it successfully. Please consider why my age advances despite my attempts to match it with my inner age (25).

These days the guiding principle in my life is "What would Serge do?" If you don't read Tim Dorsey and don't know the character, here's an intro.

    Anyway. Dear Stalemate;
I used to work in a commercial laundry that processed many thousands of uniforms a day. It was both relaxing and fascinating to watch the hangers travel along those little spiral grooves until the got to the end of the track. Then the hangers dropped onto storage racks. So, here's my question: What happens to all the little grooves when they get to the end of the carrier? I mean, shouldn't there be a big pile of grooves in the floor to sweep up?

*laughs a bit at the uncool kid

We've been driving those around for AGES!

But you need to be part of the Cool Crowd™ to have the security clearance needed just to see them, since they're invisible.

I suggest you read up his personal guidebook for that answer, since that question could have an endless number of possibilities depending on your context.

Seems my chronometron inducer was faulty and caused me to miss out on an entire part of my life that the Unipedia of 2053 lists as "the most reality altering event to occur in all of mankind's existence".

Now I can't claim deniability should that become necessary since I skipped it all... Stupid time travelling paradoxes.

Have you checked your chronometron lately?

You know, I think you may just have uncovered a very important issue in groove usage.

Seems to me these could be recycled, or at the very least re-used.

I'm going to call Greenpeace and let them know about your idea - giving you full credit for this discovery, of course, along with your name, address and phone number.

Haven't we already done this before? Or, is this the first time we have truly done it and simply repeated ourselves in the past?

Has anyone seen me around lately?

I'll have to charge you triple for this submission.

    No.

    Yes.

Only your evil twin, or so it claimed to be, in that specialty store, buying rubber chaps.
