Can't install languages in vista
hi all,
A client called me today and said he can't use his Dell Xps M1330 keyboard and touchpad. I saw there was a driver yellow mark in device manager, So I've removed the touchpad driver and reinstalled it and it worked.
Now he tells me he can't write in hebrew, And I see empty list of keyboards that can be add in the regional setting keyboard tab.
Have you seen a problem like this ?
P.S. she also told me that during the night the computer made some kind of restore (She called Dell support and the guy who checked the computer log told her that), And all that troubles began in the morning after.....

I would suggest starting with the usual malware scan, then check the event viewer and the logs to see if there was a problem recorded. Next I would do some diagnostics, (mem check, HDD check, etc) to make sure the system is not failing. After all this, if everything checks ok, do a sfc to see if all files are correct and not replaced by another program. If all else does not resolve the problem, looks like a repair install may be in order.

Have a look in Windows components part of control panel... think you can add/remove these in there - I can't check because my other PC just got toasted by adding SP1 to a new install... ggrrrrr

Thanks Zonie and Noo for your suggestions.
I tried loads of things late night remotly on this vista laptop, And it didn't helped.
I told the client to call dell's support next week, And if they can't find a solution, The OS will need to be restored by dell or by me (Since she complained she's addicted to spider solitare and she wasn't able to run it on vista - I suggested her to install xp instead of vista.....Maybe that will be a deal breaker :O)
