Cussing
I just have one thing to say to all and I think Darren would agree
I dislike reading cussing in these bullitions, I understand the frustration when an OS fails to work properly
I am not an official tech yet but I know my way around a computer, I cant even run 98 since I get BSODS on shut down and I installed the VXD patch thanks to windrivers.com
I am running 95 on a Pentium 133 Packard bell I have upgraded a lot of the hardware But my machine dislikes Windows 98 OEM SO I got mand and formated and reinstalled 95 and I find my machine boots faster under the old OS
I think I may register as this forum may prove helpful
I also offer a sugestion to those who find themselves in need of a new BIOS
You can order a third pary BIOs from
www.mrbios.com I am presently waiting for my BIOS and then maybe I can reinstall 98 OEM
I do have one complaint I have already paid for my OS why should I pay for the upgrade
Thanks ALL :>)
Format c I'm givin er all she's got cap'in !!! )

For bios upgrade, go to Packard's web site, all the info you need, if you have the right info. And amen on the cussing attitude.

Agreed 'Format C:' ( I hate typing that on my system )
Strange dilemma you have as I have used the Upgrade of Win98 on several older PB's with no problems apart from the Power Management needing to be turned on in the BIOS. What you may find though is the BSOD's being caused by non-Direct X 5 compliant hardware or drivers. Try updating the drivers to the latest versions ( which knowing PB, can be difficult ).
Good luck.

Wow, sounds like you got a $@#%&*@ problem there buddy, but that's what you get for buying a &#$*@ Pac-Bell in the first place.
Guess you're just &@%$&!
Sorry Darren, couldn't resist
