Solved Error: (login): 0x10e0 The operator or administrator has refused the request

Maybe this can help anybody else who's experience this every 3 minute pop up Error. I've tried so may freeware programs and non worked one morning I had a thought to try Combofix and what you know it worked. Run in safe mode. Make sure you disable your anti virus. But it worked for me and I hope it worked for you. One more thing I don't believe this will work on a 64bit only x32

Bleepingcomputer.com is the home site of Combofix. Their tutorial page clearly says that the tool should only be downloaded from bleepingcomputer.com or Forospyware.com. No other sites sre officially associated with the author of Combofix.

If you do a whois search on combofix.org, you will find that they are registered with Domains by Proxy which is a registrar used by those who wish to hide their identities. Sure, there are reasons legit users might use this service. But you have to ask yourself why a legitimate site would hide behind Domains by Proxy and what would motivate them to go to the trouble and expense of setting up the site, when you can just download a legitimate copy of the program from Bleepingcomputer.

You're right slgreib, combofix sourced from any other site than recommended is an unknown quantity, and could be out of date or rogue. Even though combofix.org does link through to bleepingcomputer for download, as you say it is not associated with the author of combofix and I don't know the site's purpose.
