    8 button USB gamepad problems

    i bought a Generic 8 button sega genesis style gamepad but when i plug it in, it's recognized as "JOYMOUSE" and only controls mouse funtions. what could i do to fix this? are there any generic USB drivers?

    Verion of windows, and any identifying information about the joystick would help us find you an answer.
