driver sis760 on a compaq problem
a big Hi for everyone.
I have a problem with a driver in a compaq pc, the driver is a video driver sis760, the problem is that it freezes the video after like about a minute after the system starts , the thing is that I formated the hard drive and installed a new system and thats when the driver started to fail, I'm using a driver from a backup copy I made from the original system .
in the original system that came with the pc I had no problem at all with the same driver

Yes, a little more information please, such as which version of Windows you are using.
Once you get a model number, go here to HP/Compaq's website:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
As for generic SiS drivers, go here:
http://www.sis.com/download/
Click on IGP Graphics and select SiS760 Series and then your OS.
Good Luck!

Sr1403wm
[FONT=Comic Sans MS]Since Oliveros will not post a response, I will. The driver for the SiS worked great, Thanks NooNoo, I was helping a co-worker/student/classmate/friend and the driver worked great and I am posting from it right now. It is true that you never approach a computer and expect to quickly fix this or that! Thanks again. It's too bad Oliveros didn't respond with an answer, but it did work on the Compaq SR1403WM desktop for me here. Appreciate the help NooNoo.

And the audio driver?
Hello! have a nice day...
I have the same model PC and I have installed the video driver, I downloaded it from the site that DonJ recommended. But I need the audio driver for the same PC, can some one tell me where to find it?, it is not in the compaq's site.

DonJ, I have the same PC with the same problem. How did you fix your video controller (vga compatible) driver? Email removed to avoid spam.

Hello KillaKofK3, welcome to WinDrivers.
It actually wasn't DonJ with the problem, and 5 years ago, the original poster didn't confirm any results, but others said the link from SIS did the job.
Have you downloaded and tried the drivers from SIS?

Got it fix. It's just the IGP Video Controller. It's kind of hard to search for it on their site.
