    Few IE8 associated problems

    Hi,

I have few IE8 problems, And thought it would be nice if one of you had some simple solution....

    1. A client of mine enters a site which he needs to download documents with different extensions. He had troubles opening Tiff, But then I reassociated the tiff by installing Irfanview, But IE8 still doesn't let him automatically open MDI files (Only if you save them at the desktop). I guess it's an IE8 MIME problem, And I thought that I need to reinstall office 2003 in order to re-associate MDI and IE8.

    2. I installed an integrated SP3 WINXP with built in IE8 to one of my client and now he needs IE7 for one of his secured application. I don't have the IE8 remove option (I can add/remove via windows component, But it's not the same). I'm looking for a solution that won't require my to reinstall windows.....I found this Internet explorer collection and hope it'll work for my clients needs :

    Thanks

Thanks for wanting to help CCT, But in my case I CAN open MDI files but not directly from IE8 (After I've saved them somewhere), And this is an INTGRATED XP SP3 with built in IE8 that connot be removed via the control panel since it has not been installed in the regular way...

I have never heard of a case where IE8 (or whatever) didn't have an uninst routine somewhere that could be called.

It has to have registry entries. But, if a 'search' for spuninst doesn't produce anything related to IE8, then I guess you can't easilly remove it.

As for the MDI issue; http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/For...3-5dac0caf769e

    Seems they should open.

Have you tried using revouninstaller? when installed you can do a search for the program, (Internet Explorer 8.0), and it should be found. Uninstall and it allows you to remove all registry entries as well.

    Thanks Zonie and CCT.
Regarding the MDI, I solved it by installing firefox (Chrome also worked, but didn't support hebrew on this MS PROJECT based databse). The only annoyance is that she needs to change the default "Save as" to "Open with" (Set as default is greyed out for some unknown reason), but that's minimal annoyance.

Regarding the IE7 thingy, I'll have an answer from my client tommorow if the INTERNET EXPLORER COLLECTION IE7 solved her problem, And if not I might try the uninstaller Zonie mentioned...
