So, you tried my suggestion for basically stopping all unecessary programs and services through MSCONFIG and re-booted and this svchost.exe is still using 100% ?

    Or what?

What file system scans? What were the results? Really, you're making it difficult for us to do much to help you. What antivirus do you actually have on your system? You haven't responded to either me or Ferrit warning that the AVP2009 you mentioned appears to refer to malware - if you have malicious software installed on your computer, you either have to follow the procedure to remove it or wipe and re-install.

I will note here that a number of people refer to Kasperky Spyware Doctor 2009 as 'AVP 2009' largely because the engine is AVP.exe - confuses the issue I am sure.

Yes, that's the type of confusion I'm hoping to avoid. Without more information, we're guessing a lot.

    Well....

There's the odd chance that it could be an infection in the MBR which wouldn't necessarily be detected by Antivirus software. maybe try downloading and running a program called DR WEB Cureit. That works well for finding and elminating mbr infections. Even combo fix sometimes can't remove mbr infections even though it has the tool built in to do so.

Dr. Web Cureit is a good tool and may do that for you. If in the event it doesn't work you could try the GMER tool. Silly as it sounds you should also double check the startup folder. Sometimes a persistent little nasty file can be tucked away in there and be missed by all types of scanners.

Have you even tried the last few suggestions that came up?
