No doubt DX2-66 and above are still not to bad but these shall be history soon. It would be nice to donate these to Museums.

I agree with buffalloman. No kids yet, but since my wife is only 5'2", I have one in closet for her to get to top shelf.

hehehe corelogic, just one thing - that would make one super heavy paperweight - I think for holding down the newspapers over here when the recyclers collect them from our naturestrip!

I had an old IBM desktop (not a 486, a Pentium 133) once that the motherboard crapped out on. As I was salvaging the parts out of it, I noticed that the funny looking bracket used to hold the 3 1/2" drives might be put to another use...

The drive cage had a bar on top that was offset to the right a bit (looking from the back of the case). The bar attached to the rear of the case to provide support. The whole thing was removable, I took it out and bent the left wall of the cage 90 degrees and screwed an old hard drive to the right wall to provide some weight, thus creating a crude but effective hatchet. Taped some pipe insulation around the handle too.

On the subject of making weaponry out of computer parts, take 3-4 power cables of the same length and fold them in half so that you have all the front ends and back ends together. Starting about 4 inches down from the mass of ends, wrap the cables down to about 4-6 inches from the bottom to leave yourself a good loop to put your wrist through. You've just made yourself a modern variant of the cat-o'-nine-tails.

    Thumbs up

A hatchet? Never thought of that... In truth I took an old 486 tower and put a Pentium board in it. The outside of the case still said 4/66 so no one wants to use my computer because it would be too slow. I doubt anyone would ever try to steal my Gateway 386/33sx with P-3 guts either...
