I have an old desktop and I removed the cover and made a techno-litterbox.
P.S. I hate cats so I leave it plugged in

I'm All for the fish tank idea, but pull the processor and make, a keychain/hoodornament/pendant out of it, and impress everyone with what a badass tech you are

You just stand two of them ol desktops on their sides, add a couple a 2x8's, and ya got yourself some mighty fine shelving!
Also works great with old wide-carriage dot matrix printers if you remove the platen knobs first.

silly uses?
dropping one off of a 7 story building onto your wifes head for the insurance money?
A more practical yet less economical thing to do would be to donate them to a local NFP organization. To you they may only be worth -$25, as a tax deduction you could write a 486 off as $500... that's $500 of non-taxable income!
