Combining SSD speed and HDD capacity
I saw this OCZ SSD + 1TB combined drive :
http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-rev...ate-drive.html
And there was some Ebay seller that auctioned some way to integrate SSD + Normal hard drive into near SSD speeds as long as all your programs will fit the SSD.
There is also this HDDBoost :
http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=245&area=
So I wanted to ask if you have some caching ideas how to enhance NON SSD drive in a system that incorporates SSD + NON SSD drive

I'm not sure I understand your question...

Looks like a fantastic idea but I'm not about to give up my video card slots/space for a faster drive. Maybe they are before their time on this idea, or they need a better way of connecting the drive to a reading slot than what they have now. They'd be better off designing a motherboard, drive interface, and cabling system to allow for normal PCIe usage in order to get my interest fully.

There are already hybrid drives that can be connected like a regular drive.

CB,
The momentus sucks. I bought one and played with it on few computers.
you need to load windows OS like 3-4 times so it'll get the files it used most into his cache.....
What I wanted to know is there is a way to integrate SSD drive + normal regular drive to work faster than just install OS on the SSD.
like....Hmmm.....If all small files can be cached on the SSD for example via some caching software solution....

Well.. that's how caching is supposed to work - the most frequently accessed data is stored in the storage area with the fastest access. No need to store all small files regardless of access frequency, it would be counter-productive.
The purpose is to end up with the fastest overall data access...

But then there might be less than fastest access to some data in case your SSD is not big enough for installation of games for example.
I think the the culprit of the normal hard drive is the access to small files and I'm still looking for a way that might be more useful than just installing the OS on the SSD.
I guess until I'll find such a solution SSD drive prices will be much cheaper lol

Well, if you're not wanting to use a SSD I guess you could just go and set up a RAID 10, 0, or even as someone told me raid 15 (which doesn't sound right). To be honest I only know what I've been told but this nifty video kind of makes the point even though they are using SSDs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96dWOEa4Djs

I loved that when it first came out. I must say I am slightly disappointed that SSDs aren't mainstream yet. The video has to be 2 years old!
