Keyboard lights
I built this computer about 3 months ago , and never noticed that the keyboard lights ( number lock, cap lock, and scroll lock ) lights stay on even after the computer is powered off !The keyboard is a older one that has to have the adapter to change it to pc2 conector. The computer is built on a newer VIA chipset MB with a PIII 550 cpu , running win 98 . I tryed the wife's keyboard ( a newer one w/o the adapter ) and same thing . This sound like a ground problem ?
Any answers or sugestions would be greatly appreicated thanks !

Some Motherboards can be turned on by striking the spacebar. Do do this the keyboard ia always on even if the computer is not. You can usually disable this feature with a jumper.

Don't worry. This situation is common.
Your machine is an ATX one.
When you shutdown Windows, it turns off, but it stands by.
This means that you need to disconnect it from the power supply or push the on/off button on the power supply, to turn it off.
You can see the leds staying on on some keyboards. That's absolutely natural. It's common.

Could be the BIOS as well. I know ABIT had a problem with their BE6 BIOS where the lights from the keyboard wouldn't turn off (my experience!!! ). They released a BIOS upgrade, and that solved the problem.
See if your mobo manufacturer has a BIOS upgrade that might fix the problem.

i am also tired and not thinking clearly and will probably just delete this tomarow when im thinking again

You should see my computer room, looks like Christmas. My girlfriend said last year, "skip the tree, you got enough lights."
Actually counted them a few months ago, Between four computers, three monitors, two UPS, three sets of speakers, three printers, 8 port hub, ISDN modem, six surge protectors and two eight band LED graphic EQ's 96 LED's lit 24 hrs a day. dont even need to turn on the light at night.
