Wireless authentication failed because of a timeout
Fujitsu Siemens Amilio Li 1818 Laptop
Windows Vista SP2
BT Homehub3
I have recently had a Modem upgrade from BT Homehub1 to BT HomeHub3, due to the modem becoming faulty
.
After the upgrade, I am unable to connect to the Internet for the reason 'Wireless Authentication failed because of a timeout'.
I have also tried connecting to a colleagues modem of the same type with no success.
From the device options, this laptop has a SIS163u type Wireless modem.
I have tried various options, but I am still unable to resolve this issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you set or checked the BT HomeHub3 wireless settings? Have you created a profile on your SIS163u wireless lan with the correct SSID and security Key/Passphrase?
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!

Try setting the modem to have no security and check to see if you can connect like that.
Then add back the security and see what happens. It could just be a case of your wireless
card not liking the security encryption
