    Post IE 5.01 or IE 5.5

    which one is better. i recently went back to win98se and i have 5.01. is there a reason to upgrade or not to upgrade?

    it is working, but it is soo slow. i have a 900mhz with 512mb RAM and it just seems slow to me.

    56K Modem? DSL? Cable?
    are you sure its the browser thats slow and not your connection speed?
    Try IE 6.0 if you want I have been using it since it came out and have had no Probs.

    I have been using the Opera (5.12 now) web browser for 3 years now with no complaints, it is faster than either IE or Netscape/AOL. I only use IE 5.5 at work. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

    IE 5.5 will load pages faster on your system.

    You need internet explorer 4.0 and up for Opera to work. From this I'm guessing Opera just piggy backs off of IE. Its just a different looking interface.

    Anyone confirm this?
