most Sales Managers should never be allowed near the techs. I feel for you since i've been there but don't jump toss him out instead it's justified no jury would convict.

The majority of the sales managers I worked with at my last job couldn't tell their *** from a hole in the wall. All they cared about was selling the customer as much as they could and keeping him/her happy. They have no knowledge of what will or will not work with computers and they really don't care about it until the customer starts bitching to them that it's not working. Then where does it fall on? Us, the techs. Then we have to find a way to make it all work.

Ummm, that's kinda funny and all but I'm still wondering why you couldn't run 98se with 512mb of RAM on it. ??? Maybe it's just me... or is it...

That legal program needed 512K of ram, as in it was made back in the days that Bill Gates said 640K of RAM is all we will need.
My wife works for a law firm, and sometimes I wish they would hire me because the computers these people use are so messed up that the hard drives need to be slicked first to begin fixing them. I feel your pain, though. Luckily for my wife, she got a new computer when the computer techs at the law firm couldn't figure out why it kept crashing at the most inopportune times. My wife isn't that bad with computers, although she preferrs WinME to Win2K because she didn't like all of the problems finding a Win2K video driver for her computers S3 chipset.
Keep your chin up, and laugh at them for how stupid they will feel when you explain how 98 uses memory over 512mb.
God is all knowing, I am just human.

Ive worked for idiots, just left my job working for a whole bunch of them actually..
I still fail to see where an issue comes from, with running Win98 and 512Mb RAM comes into it though...

Win9x tends to be... unhappy... when more than 320MB RAM is installed.
