I can't believe the dumb@$$ did that!!!
Okay, so I sold a case to a guy and he's been emailing me asking tons of questions. This guy had emailed me asking how to connect the power switch to the motherboard. This seemed kinda odd because he was building his own computer in the case that I sold him but I wouldn't put anything past anyone these days. I didn't really want to give this guy a bunch of free support but I'm nice when it comes to the smaller questions. So I wrote back telling him that it needs to be hooked from the switch to the motherboard with the connectors provided and if he has any problems to consult his motherboard documentation. Apparently, he had already hooked the line from the switch to the motherboard but just didn't get the concept that it could turn on this way since it wasn't hooked directly to the power supply (Maybe the last puter that he built was an AT) So, in his latest correspondence, he tells me that he spliced wires from the two lines leading from the switch to the motherboard and connected the other end to two wires from the power supply (he cut off one of the molex connectors) Needless to say, he wasn't too happy to get 300 watts shooting straight into his arms because he forgot to unplug the power supply first. Where do we get 'em and why haven't they figured out that they can make great money as politicians yet. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

That is one scary user!
I mean, we do get the occasional misfit who tries to troubleshoot his PC and ends up calling us to save it from total destruction, but this...
...this is just downright dangerous!
Darwin Award candidate if ever there was one

Don't you have to die in the stupid act in order to qualify for a darwin award?

Flabooble!
Ya know, I thought at first that he may have meant the switch on the wall. Might be funny if one of them hooked that up right to the motherboard. "What's that burning smell?"

as long as you are unable to reproduce you are eligble for a darwin award.
death or castration = darwin award

I'm glad to see I'm not the only tech with the Goldeneye Kid syndrome.

Man, he STILL hasn't emailed me back yet.... I'm starting to get worried about him. I think I'm gonna have to go pick up Robert Stack and take a ride over there.

Forget Robert Stack, you should take Quincy, DaVinci, and the crew from C.S.I. (TV Coroners)
