    Post Twilight Zone ISDN

Just got back from our Indy office. They have been having trouble with their ISDN, Started a month ago when they suddenly lost internet access. So I took a spare router and headed for Indy (Nov 14). Setup the new router and still got no access. Called the ISP, They have no problems. Call the Phone co. (Ameritech is the biggest bunch of Forking Idiots I ever saw) They say they will send someone out to look at the problem and I go home.

Two days later after many phone calls they tell me the lines are fine. So I go back to indy with two routers and a few diagnostic tools. I can't get any of the four routers to connect and the diagnostics keeps coming up with "No Carrier". which tells me the lines are not working. I call Ameraidiot again and tell them the results, they say they will check everything again. I go home, I go on vacation, I come back and they still are having problems.

So I go to Indy again (these 3 1/2 hr drives are getting old). One Lucent, One Ascend, one Cisco and one ZyXel router. all configured properly. None of them work. Keep getting "No Carrier". Anothere call to Amerimoron and they say We'll send someone out. This time I'm staying untill I see the tests first hand. One nite ia cheap sleazy motel romm later, Amerischmuck shows up at noon. He runs his tests and lo and behold....

Everything checks out fine, I saw the tests myself. So It has to be some silly setting that I've overlooked. I triple check everything on all the routers and they still won't work. I hook up the Ascend and call their tech support (Ameritrog is still there) I go through all the settings with tech support and he comnfirms everything is corrct, but still no connection. I hook up the Cisco, same deal, everything is confirmed correct. No Carrier.

Now I have trouble believing that four different routers are all bad, especialy since they all worked fine at the corperate office. but I saw, and heard, the tests from Ma Bell and there was no problem. Everything Works but it doesn't "WORK".

    Twilight Zone.

Sorry for the long post, Been a long day and I needed to get some steam off.
The Dragon has left the building.

Hehe. Been there, done that. It is usually their side. See if you can get one of their techs out there for you, since they don't believe that the problem is on your end. Had to do that before, and it sounds like they are just blowing you off.
